Scanning to PC not working with Pixma 490

jbethallen

I am unable to scan with my new printer.  My old printer scanned just fine.  I use wireless, no router.  I can print from my PC but do not seem to be set up to scan.  Help?

Hi jbethallen,

Scanning software is included with the printer driver, and scans can be initiated from the computer.

  1. Press Windows+S to open a search screen.
  2. Type "IJ Scan Utility" in the search box.
  3. Open IJ Scan Utility.
  4. Press "ScanGear"
  5. Place your original.
  6. Press "Preview."
  7. If you are satisfied with the image, press "Scan" to complete the operation.
