Scanner not working since updating Mac software

I have a PIXMA MG3520. My scanner utility has not been working at all, I think since I updated my Mac software. I have tried downloading the new recommended software and drivers on canon's support site, but it still will not work. When I downloaded MP Navigator EX software, it just opens this .rtf document that doesn't let me do anything further. I appreciate any help or tips to get this fixed. Thanks.

Hello.

 

The MP Navigator does not appear to be compatible with an MG3520.

 

Download the latest CUPS Printer Driver, ICA driver, IJ Scan Utility and IJ Network Tool (If used wirelessly) for your MG3520.  Visit www.usa.canon.com for the latest downloads.
