Scanner, Unable to open file

Hi

I've a CanoScan LiDE 30 that still works just fine. The install disk is Ver 1.02 which uses Adobe Acrobat 5.  I uninstalled and reinstalled a few times but I'm still getting

"Unable to open file"

"This program has known compatibility issues" ..

"twain .."

 

How can I update the Acrobat 5 to be compatible with my current laptops? Is this the problem? One laptop is Window 7 and the other 8.

This error appears to be related to the installation of the TWAIN drivers and not the Acrobat software.

 

Drivers for Windows 7 and 8 are not available for this model. While considering the desire to provide the best possible support for Canon's current products, Canon must make decisions on which products to support when new operating systems are introduced.
