I have a MG6850 multifunction Canon printer. Recently the Canon IJ Scan Utility has misfunctioned. I can scan the first page of a document without problem, but when I want to scan a second page of the same document by clicking on "Scan" in the small dialogue screen I receive the message "Failed to open a session on the device". I have re-downloaded and installed successfully the scanning software using mcpd-mac-mg6800-16_04_1_0 ea21_3.dmg installer software, but it has not resloved the problem.
I am using a MacBook Pro with Mac OS Catalina 10.15.3
Can anyone help me, please?

Having problems with Scanner Lite using Apple MacBook Pro and Big Sur. Keep getting error stating that the scanner softtware can not find the scanner. Suggesting a wifi issue. However the printer in print mode funtions correctly.
Down loaded the latest drivers from canon website for BigSur version 11.
