Printing from rear tray on a TR8520

I cannot get my printer to print from the rear tray.

Please follow the steps on this page:

Once the paper is loaded and is selected on the display of your PIXMA TR8520, please also set the printer driver to rear tray.

i have tried all the trouble shooting issues and still i get a blank from the rear tray......so frustrating
