Print to iP8720 using a cable from iPadPro

Setting up the wireless printing keeps failing so I’m trying to print from an iPadPro to iP8720 using a cable. Any suggestions? Thank you.

Cannot print via cable. Are you using the Canon Print app on your iPad?

Thanks for the reply John, Yes I’ve been trying to use the Print app on my iPad. It gets to a step in the process and then the printer doesn’t show up.
