Print head - PIXMA MX922

Black print is mostly skipped lines. Several deep cleanings do not help. New ink tanks do not help. Color prints all great. Probably need to replace print head.

How do I do that??

Mine stop printing and I change the large black ink container and it started working well again... the ink indicator was showing that it was 3/4 full... this might work for you too...

HI awcurtis,

Could you reply with the information that is listed on the Black ink cartridge( ink number, where it was made, etc). We would also need to know if you printed a nozzle check as well and if it looks like the picture below or if the grid looks like A or B:

We look forward to your reply.

I printed a deep cleaning check. Both grids looked like (B). However I no longer have that MX922 (up graded to a TR8520. I do not remember what was listed on the black cartridge. It was not a genuine Canon, but I had been using that same off brand for quite a few years without problems. Possibly faulty ink that finally caused a clog in the print head? Was a great printer / scanner for many years.
