I want to add to what I posted below, if your ink cartridges are not made by Canon, they could be the source of this problem.

Understanding Error Code 7700

The error code 7700 on the PIXMA TS6420a printer usually signifies a problem with the print head or an internal hardware malfunction. This can stem from several issues, including:

  • Clogged or faulty print head
  • Problems with the ink cartridges
  • Mechanical failures within the printer

Steps to Resolve Error Code 7700

To troubleshoot and potentially fix the error, follow these steps:

1. Clean the Print Head

  • Use the printer's maintenance settings to initiate a print head cleaning cycle.
  • Manually clean the print head if necessary, following the manufacturer's guidelines.

2. Check Ink Cartridges

  • Ensure that the ink cartridges are properly installed and not empty.
  • Replace any cartridges that are low on ink or defective.

3. Restart the Printer

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for a few minutes, then plug it back in and turn it on.

When to Seek Professional Help

If the error persists after trying the above steps, it may indicate a more serious internal issue. In this case, it is advisable to:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it.
  • Contact your nearest Canon service center for repair assistance.
