Pixma MP560 and Windows 11

gmkat
Apprentice

I have a MP560 that was purchased by me in 2010 and it is still in brand new condition and works great!!

Problem----I just purchased a new Dell Laptop with Windows 11 and I cannot get it to recognize the printer because the driver will not install--All because Canon no longer supports this printer.

Is there a way to make it work? I LOVE this printer/scanner because of the individual ink tanks and really don't want to buy another printer because this one still works beautifully.

Thanks in advance

Kathy

Hi gmkat,

Please try using this link to download the drivers for your PIXMA MP560:

https://canoncanada.custhelp.com/app/browse/a_status/published/channelRecordID/DRIVERS_AND_SOFTWARE/...

Please choose Windows 10 from the drop down. Please note, the PIXMA MP560 is not supported with Windows 11, and installing this would be done at your own risk, without support.

Did you try installing the W10 driver? They frequently work with W11.

Yes I did, hoping it would work, didn't work, but thanks for the suggestion

Let my computer sit for a day and then restarted---downloaded the above link and followed instructions and BOOM it worked---------------So please to be able to use my FAVORITE printer again!!!

Same situation for me - new Dell with Win11. Figured what the heck do I have to lose? Downloaded the W10 driver and BOOM - it works! Color me happy to be able to use my OLD printer 🙂

Hi Patrick,

it did not worked on my printer. Are there any other opportunities?

Thanks in advance

Hi, MartinL!  The PIXMA MP560 is an older model which we have retired since this thread got going last year. While that means that Canon USA no longer offers direct support for it, your friends here in the Canon Community are welcome to offer suggestions!

You can also speak with a Canon Upgrade Program specialist to help you score a modern replacement that would meet your current needs at a discount. You can reach them weekdays and Saturdays at 1-866-443-8002.

Hope this helps!
