Pixma MG7520 slow scanning and other issues

HLily
Enthusiast

Hello,

I have a Pixma MG7520 all in one printer/scanner and have several issues of late. First - the scanner is very slow to initiate a scan. I am using the Canon IJ Scan utility and it takes about a minute for the scanner to start working after I select SCAN in the scanner interface - even after it has just scanned one document and is warmed up.

It also is now recording the same "name" for each consecutive scan instead of marking them as 001, 002, 003 etc as it used to do - which necessitates renaming each file since they all have the same file name.

Printing is also quite slow.

This is a network scanner - not wired directly to my laptop.

Thanks for any help or suggestions.

LH

Thanks for letting us know what Canon product you've got. The Pixma MG7520 is an older model which we have retired. While that means that Canon USA no longer offers direct support for it, your friends here in the Canon Community are welcome to offer suggestions!

You can also speak with a Canon Upgrade Program specialist to help you score a modern replacement that would meet your current needs at a discount. You can reach them weekdays and Saturdays at 1-866-443-8002.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the info. I know it is older, and it doesn't get that much use, so I guess I'll live with the slowness.

The issue with the file names is frustrating though, so maybe someone has an idea about that - or I'll just need to rename each if I do several scans on the same day.

I appreciate your reply!
