Initially the output size in ScanGear Advanced tab was set to letter size 8.69" x 11.??", but afterwards it auto changed to
8.34" x 8.64," resulting in cropped preview image!!
I've tried numerous hacks but can't change it back!!
Please help.

Hi! Thanks for posting in the Canon Community Forum. I see that you are unable to scan an image with the output size set to 8.69x11 inches. You mention that it is resized to 8.34x8.64 inches automatically.
After you click on the Preview button, you should see the image in the preview area. You can then frame the area of the image that you want to keep. You do this by clicking on the image and dragging over the area that you want scanned. Anything outside the framed area will be cropped out when you click on the Scan button.
You will find more information for adjusting the cropping frames in the following sections of the manual:
https://ij.manual.canon/ij/webmanual/ScanGear/W/MFP/20.0/EN/SG/crop.html
If you want to create a custom scan size, you can click on the Output Size drop-down box and select Add/Delete. In the window that opens, you will be able to create a custom size and save it. Once you do that the custom size should be available to select. For more information about the Output Settings, you can visit the following section of the manual:
https://ij.manual.canon/ij/webmanual/ScanGear/W/MFP/20.0/EN/SG/sg-927.html
If ScanGear is still not performing as you would like, I recommend uninstalling the IJ Scan Utility and the MP Drivers. After they have been uninstalled, please reinstall the MP Driver package from our website. While you are in the process of reinstalling, it is important to keep the printer turned off. Do not turn it on until the setup program asks you to turn it on and connect the cable.
You can follow these steps to uninstall the IJ Scan Utility and the MP Drivers:
After your computer has finished restarting, please select and download the MG2522/MG2525 MP Drivers Ver. 1.02 that is 14.90 MB (fourth one listed under Optional Drivers) from the following link:
When the file has finished downloading, please run it. When the setup program asks you to turn the printer on, please do that and make sure that the USB cable is firmly connected. Once the installation is completed, please open the IJ Scan Utility and click on the ScanGear button to verify that it works.
I hope this information helps. Thanks for choosing Canon.
