Pixma G4210 fax problems

When I get incomming calls it goes right to fax tones like I am recieving a fax. What am I doing wrong?

Hello.

Check to make sure that the correct receive mode is being used.  If you will be using the printer on a phone line that also receives voice calls, the unit will need to be in Tel Priority mode.  For details, visit THIS LINK.

I have read through all the set up and tried differnt settings. I think the problem is that my TAD is in another room. Ihave "Parallel"  phones conected. The manual says I would have to resieve a fax manually. I  havent figured that out yet. I was ready to buy another Brother (the old one worked on the same setup). Out of frustration I have given up for a bit.  As for finding help at "Contact Us" or support it is just as frustrating.
