PIXMA iP8720 issues printing pink/magenta on photo paper after macOS Tahoe — plain paper works fine

My iP8720 is printing with a heavy pink/magenta cast on any photo paper setting. Blacks come out purple, dark areas are washed out. Plain paper prints perfectly with correct colors.

This is the first time I've printed since upgrading to macOS Tahoe (26). It worked fine before the upgrade.

Troubleshooting completed:

  • Replaced PGBK cartridge (new, genuine Canon)
  • Replaced BK cartridge (genuine Canon)
  • Nozzle check pattern prints perfectly — all channels clean and solid
  • Downloaded and installed fresh driver from Canon website (Sept 2025 version)
  • Reset macOS printing system completely
  • Removed and re-added printer via USB
  • Tested multiple media types in driver: Glossy Photo Paper, Photo Paper Plus Glossy II, Matte Photo Paper
  • Tested from multiple applications (Photos, Preview) — same result
  • Canon Color Matching selected in print dialog

Results:

  • Plain paper + plain paper setting = correct colors
  • Any photo paper setting = severe pink/magenta cast regardless of actual paper used

Is this a known issue with macOS Tahoe? Is there a driver update planned? Any workarounds?

I missed that on the nozzle check printout. Good catch John.
