PIXMA iP7220 iPhone issues

Good Afternoon,

I have a client that has a PIXMA iP7220 that is having issues being printed from his iPhone.

He has had the iphone for a few years and the same model printer for a similar amount.

He claims he used to be able to print from his Iphone with the basic print functions (not the app) but recently the printer will not accept that there is paper in the tray. It seems to be attempting to print to the top cassette, thats empty, insead of the bottom where there is letter paper.

Is there any way we can tell the iPhone to not try to use the top cassette?

Hello Geri0n.

When printing from non-Canon apps on iOS, Apple's Airprint service will be used.  Airprint will pre-set paper size based on the app from which you're printing, and the type of file you wish to print.  By default, images will print to small paper size (4x6 or 5x7), while PDFs tend to default to Letter or A4 paper size.

If you wish to change the paper size in a non-Canon app, you will need to check the Print Options in the app from which you're printing.  Not all apps will allow you to change the paper size.

If your client wishes more control over the size and media settings when printing image files, the Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY app is avaliable, free of charge, in the App store.
