PIXMA TS6520 doesn't accept new cartridge

TS6520. I just bought. I ran out of b lack ink. When I replaced the cartridge I was told I didn't have a black cartridge. I tried another new cartridge and got the same message

Greetings ,

Are you using Canon inks or third party?  While it's permissible to use third-party inks, sometimes their quality can be questionable.

Start by removing the black ink cartridge from the printer.  Make sure you have removed all of the tapes from the cartridge.  Make sure the contacts on the printer cartridge are clean.  Also inspect the cartridge receptacle on the printer. Make sure its contacts are clean.  With the printer powered off, you can use a Q-Tip with alcohol but be gentle.  

Unplug the printer from power, press and hold the power button for 15 seconds.  Now reconnect the printer to power and reinsert the cartridge until it clicks and locks in place.  Turn the printer on.  Results?
