PIXMA TS6420a - computer not recognizing

Printer just bought TS16420a , even plugged into my compac windows 7 , my computer doesn’t recognize anything, I’ve tried reading manual, nothing I try is working, can I please get a step by step instructions..

Please contact one of Canon's Technical Support Representatives via phone or chat. To contact a Technical Support Representative, please use the link below to log into your My Canon account:

Once logged in, click on your PIXMA TS6420a and then click on the Product Support button. When that page loads, click on either the Phone Support button or the Chat Support button to access support. A Technical Support Representative will assist you with getting your PIXMA TS6420a working with your Windows 7 computer.
