How do you set up the Cannon Pixma TR7820 so that one can scan documents on the printer and have sent to an email address? I have tried everything and nothing is working.
As of right now this Cannon Pixma TR7820 is NOT user friendly.
Thank You
Nancy

Greetings,
Like a mobile phone or computer, your printer requires the same type of configuration and set up in order to send mail.
Sending server
Username
Password
Port number
Security / encryption type
Here is a knowledgebase article:
Canon Knowledge Base - Specify Mail Settings for Sending Scanned Data - TR7820
Most email providers are supported. Gmail, yahoo, comcast, M365, and others
Example of sending server: smtp.gmail.com
Username: usually your email address
Password: password you use to log into your mail account. You may need to use a app-password depending on the provider.
Port: Depends on the provider, 25, 110, 465, 587 (typical)
Security: SSL, TLS, etc

Hi Rick - I, too, am having trouble connecting so that I can scan to email. When I "test connection to the mail server". It says "connection succeeded." When I try to scan to email, I get the error code, "support code 3818, failed to connect to the mail server. Check your mail server's status." Can you help??? I am very frustrated with how complicated this is.
