PIXMA TR7020a Rear tray door needs to be taped shut

Getting a message when printing, about the rear loading paper tray. Tried taping the door closed to be able to print from the tray below, However, opening the lid to make copies and scans not possible when taped shut. This has been a learning process that was present when purchased new, out of the box. It is suggested that a warranty issue processing request is necessary. Please assist.

Repair or exchange service options in the event services is required for the product during the limited warranty period, Canon USA offers two hardware support options.
1) Authorize services facility carry in mailing service.
2) Instant exchange services.
Cannons USA authorized service facility network ASF(s) is obtained by calling the Canon USA Customer Care Center.

Monday through Friday 8 AM to 8 PM

To contact support, you'll need to register your printer at http://Canon.us/account. That will allow our phone system to verify that you're still within warranty and eligible for free support. Once you've registered, just give our team a call at 800-652-2666. Printer support is available Monday through Friday.

Thank you for writing and answering the inquiry. The product is registered to show that customer is within warranty and eligible for free support. However, when calling the Canon telephone number and or entering into a Canon chat session, both result in no support, just on hold for a representative. Multiple times, days. and attempts have been made with no results for months. Truly wondering about this process of receiving the product warranty and technical support troubleshooting. Perhaps, there is an email address that I can send to a representative?

There is no email support for this model printer. Make sure you are using the number that is registered with the Canon account.

There is no email support for the PIXMA TR7020a.

To contact support, please create a My Canon account:

https://mycanon.usa.canon.com/signin

Once your account is created, please log into your account.

Click the Service & Support link in the menu on the left side.

Click Register product and add your PIXMA TR7020a to your account.

Once added, click the Get Service & Support button.

On the next page, you can click the Phone Support button and call in by dialing 800-652-2666, or you can also click the Chat Support button to chat with a representative.
