PIXMA TR4722 misaligned when printing in Landscape.

I took a photo of one my printouts, and tried to look up what could be the cause. I ran a print test page, made sure there was nothing inside my printer that could be throwing it off, etc. Printing in portrait no problems. But as soon as I need to print in Landscape it's all over the place. What could possibly be the issue? I'm not very tech savvy so hopefully it isn't anything too complex. #TR4722 #misaligned #landscape #printingmisaligned

What is the misalignment? Printed lines on the page? Margins off, print not centered? Can you post an example? I am trying to determine if this is a printhead alignment issue, it is possible that the head can misalign for one mode and not another.

Looks like you need to perform a print head alignment:

To perform a print head alignment on the PIXMA TR4722, first ensure the printer is on and load a sheet of A4 or Letter-sized plain paper in the front tray. Then, press the Setup button, select Maintenance, choose Head alignment, and follow the prompts to print the alignment sheet, which you will then scan to complete the alignment.

I actually ran one 2x.

I don't know if this will help or not.           Print line misalignment specifically in landscape mode on Windows 11 often results from conflicting orientation settings between the app (e.g., MS Word), print driver, or Windows default settings, often misinterpreting landscape for portrait or causing scaling errors. Other causes include incorrect paper size configuration, outdated drivers, or physical paper feed issues.

Primary Causes for Landscape Misalignment in Windows 11
  • Application-Specific Override: Microsoft 365 apps or others may override system settings, reverting to default portrait settings.
  • Windows 11 Print Dialog Bug: Some users report that the Windows 11 print dialog visually mislabels orientation icons or fails to properly send the landscape flag to the printer.
  • Driver Incompatibility: Using a generic driver instead of the manufacturer-specific driver can cause misinterpretation of page orientation.
  • Paper Size Mismatch: The software is set to a different paper size than what is physically in the tray (e.g., Letter vs. A4), causing margins to be cut off or text to be shifted.
  • Physical Paper Loading: Paper side constraints in the tray may not be snug, causing the paper to feed at a slight angle, which is more noticeable in landscape
Troubleshooting Steps
  1. Check Print Preferences: Go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners > [Printer] > Printing preferences, and ensure orientation is explicitly set to Landscape.
  2. Use Print Preview: Always use the Print Preview to confirm the layout is correct before printing.
  3. Adjust Paper Size: Verify that the paper size in the print dialog matches the physical paper in the tray.
  4. Update/Reinstall Driver: Download the latest driver directly from the printer manufacturer’s website.
  5. Reinstall Printer: Remove the device from Control Panel > Devices and Printers and add it again.
  6. Print as PDF: If using Office, try printing as a PDF first to determine if it is an app-specific layout issue.

Good afternoon. It is now doing it in Portrait also. Also, I noticed when printing there is alot of banging or thumping noises going on from inside my printer. This poor thing has been through ALOT, it's been used alot; including moving 5 states on a truck with movers who probably weren't gentle with it. It kind of sucks because I just got new cartridges. I'm going to try to use them up.

But I did do alot of those things on that list. And I went to print my outline for my debate in class today and half the lines were missing. So it's gotta be internal.

Presently, the Canon TR4720 is the current printer in the 4700 series, it is for sale from Amazon for 69.00 dollars and  uses the same ink cartridges as the TR4722.
