It would appear that the printer is not set as the system default printer, the fax is.
Unfortunately, you didn't mention what version of Windows or the version of Mac you are using, or what program you are printing from, so I am only able to provide these generic steps:
Please open something to print, click on File and then Print. If you are in a web browser, click the 3 dots button in the upper right corner of the web browser and then click Print in the menu that appears.
Is the Canon TR4700 series Fax selected in the Print window? Are you able to select the TR4700 series Printer?
If you are, once the TR4700 series printer is selected, are you able to print?

Once logged in, click on your PIXMA TR4720 and then click on the Product Support button. When that page loads, click on either the Phone Support button or the Chat Support button to access support.
