PIXMA TR4500 series: Front cartridge cover prevents access to paper jam

Canon TR4500 printer.  The front cartridge cover will not open all the way to access paper jam under cartridges and cartridges themselves.  The output tray doesn't drop down all the way.  I did remove that tray earlier but didn't help.  It goes back to it's same position.

Resolving a Paper Jam in the PIXMA TR4500 Series

Steps to Remove Jammed Paper

To fix a bad paper jam under the front cartridge cover of the PIXMA TR4500 series, follow these steps:

1. Turn Off and Unplug the Printer
   • Ensure the printer is completely powered down and unplugged from the electrical outlet.

2. Open the Paper Output Cover

   • Carefully lift the paper output cover to access the paper path.

3. Check for Jammed Paper

   • Look for any paper that may be stuck in the printer. If you find jammed paper, proceed to the next step.

4. Move the FINE Cartridge Holder

   • If the jammed paper is located under the FINE cartridge holder, gently slide the holder to the far right or left to create space for removal.

5. Remove the Jammed Paper

   • Grasp the jammed paper firmly with both hands and pull it out slowly to avoid tearing. If the paper is rolled up, ensure to pull it out carefully.

6. Inspect for Remaining Paper

   • After removing the jammed paper, check for any small bits of paper that may still be inside the printer, especially under the FINE cartridge holder and in the empty spaces.

7. Close the Paper Output Cover

   • Once all paper is removed, close the paper output cover securely.

8. Reconnect and Power On the Printer

   • Plug the printer back in and turn it on. All print jobs in the queue will be canceled, so you may need to resend your print jobs.

Thank you for your response. All I needed to do was remove all the input paper, no then the cartridge cover opened all the way.
