PIXMA TR4500 series: Front cartridge cover prevents access to paper jam

Canon TR4500 printer. The front cartridge cover will not open all the way to access paper jam under cartridges and cartridges themselves. The output tray doesn't drop down all the way. I did remove that tray earlier but didn't help. It goes back ...

Thank you for your response. All I needed to do was remove all the input paper, no then the cartridge cover opened all the way.
