Good evening. I have a problem with my Canon Pixma 5350 printer and scanner (All in One). The inner lid was opened to change the cartridge while the machine had no power. This meant that the lever supporting the lid while open was then stuck. I have pushed the lever down to its housing but it will not allow the lid to shut fully. It can be a simple mechanical problem caused by me.

Hello grampatex.

Please try the following to see if we can resolve your issue:

1.  Open the cover of the printer.

2.  Remove all ink tanks from the printer.

3.  Lift up the gray locking lever on the side of the ink tank holder.

4.  Gently remove the print head from the carriage unit.

5.  Place the print head back in and lock the lever down.

6.  Place all of the ink tanks back in the printer.

7.  Close the cover and turn the printer off.

8.  Unplug the power from the printer.  Leave the power unplugged for about 5-10 minutes.

I'm using a PRO-10 printer. After reading another poster's solution, with the printer turned off I simulataneously pressed ON and RESUME. This cleared the B200 error.

I'm still in the process of cleaning the print heads - the PBK test pattern is bad but all others print fine.

For those who have the carriage locked to one side or the other, try this. It worked on my Pixma MG5522.

With the printer plugged in, and the cover open, push the on button about 5 or 6 times, quickly. I tried this at first with the cover closed and it didn't work. Having the cover open was the key. This MAY get rid of the error code and get your printer working.

Mine was back to normal very briefly. I tried to run a deep cleaning from the computer interface and got the error message again. However, the carriage did not get stuck all the way over to the left again, as it had before. So at least I was able to remove the cartridges and print head to do the cleaning. Waiting for it to dry and hoping that will be the solution.

Very frustrating, as I have only had this printer for about 2 years with light to moderate use.

Keeping fingers crossed...

I have a MX922 which is giving a B200. I put new ink in the unit after the code. I took out the print head and used Q tips to clean the head and the excess around the head. What is next? I did unplug it for a month plugged it in and it printed 3 pages and back to B200. I do not have time to call tech support during work so I need help please or a tech to call me.
