PIXMA MX420 Error Code U051

This morning I installed a Black Ink Cartridge on my PXMA  MX420 Printer (not the first time).  Upon closing the lid, Error Code U051 appeared, along with a message, as follows, "Print Head is not installed.  Install the Print Head"  I am not techy, and I have no idea what this refers to or how to proceed.  Help!

Thanks for letting us know what Canon product you've got. The PIXMA MX420 is an older model which we have retired. While that means that Canon USA no longer offers direct support for it, your friends here in the Canon Community are welcome to offer suggestions!
