PIXMA MG3620 will not print color

kd-canon

MacOS running Sequoia 16.7.5. The printer worked fine for a few years. Now it will not print color: when I print an image with color, the color parts are simply omitted and the black parts print.

The color & B&W cartridges are in place and the web UI shows that they both have plenty of ink. From System Settings > Printers & Scanners I have deleted the printer and re-added it; I have reset the printing system and re-added the printer. From the printer's web UI I have run Cleaning and Deep Cleaning, and each time Print Nozzle Test Pattern shows no color on the test page.

What now?

No color at all showing from any maintenance function? I suspect you have a bad color cartridge. I too use the MG3620.

Thanks for joining the conversation, kd-canon!

So that the Community can help you better, we need to know exactly which Canon printer model you're using within the PIXMA MG3600 series.  The model number should appear on the front of the unit at the bottom right corner. That, and any other details you'd like to give will help the Community better understand your issue!

If this is a time-sensitive matter, click HERE search our knowledge base or find additional support options HERE.

Thanks and have a great day!

It's MG3620.

Per the web UI, firmware version was 2.090. Update was available to 4.000 — installed that.

No difference. Still no color.

Oh and per System Settings > Printers & Scanners, driver version is 4.0.

Thank you! That was it. Got & installed a new cartridge and color printing is restored.
