PIXMA MG2522 Ink & Software Setup Issues

My mom had gotten me a printer for collage and everything was going fine until it got to the ink and the instillation of the software for this printer. The black ink cartage light wont go off and I've put it in multiple times and the instillation of the program is stuck at the end. I have done all of what I was told to do and nothing is working. The ink is new, and the software has been downloaded several times and my computer, and printer, restarted. It's a MG2522.

Hi,

I recommend performing a reset of the printer. While the printer is on, unplug the power cord from the printer. While the power is off, press the power button 5 times. After 60 seconds plug the power cord back in and power on the printer.

If that does not work, please reply with the information that is on the cartridges( ink number, where the cartridge was made, etc).
