I've used Canon all in one printers for many years and been happy with them all I had a MX922 all in one for years and years. It worked great - easy to use - and only recently began to have problem with rollers picking up paper - both top and bottom. Attempted to get new rollers to repair - parts are discontinued as is that model all in one printer. "Upgraded" to G7020 to get the tanks - it had auto doc feeder and built in fax that I needed.
This new printer appears to be - and sounds - cheap and flimsy. It is slow and noisy and most irritating of all - there is no back light on the selection panel. I called support thinking I just had not found out to turn it on - nope - no longer provide. I literally have to use a flashlight to see how to make selections. Very very unhappy with everything except the tank method of ink.
I purchased directly from Canon bc wanted to discuss my needs and make sure they were met. That discussion went well - it just never occurred to me to ask whether I would be able to see the selection panel - and whether it was cheap and flimsy - paid hundred bucks more turns out than at stores or Amazon. I want to return it but not figured out yet how to and whether I can. I found a new in box 922 on ebay - yes it is $500 but worth it to not have to deal with the stress each time I use this "not upgraded" machine.
Posting here in case anyone else has this model and has figured out how to make it more user friendly.
