PIXMA G7020 printer set up - stuck on language screen

I have a new PIXMA G7020 and am having trouble with initial setup.  I cannot get past the first question on the printer screen -- language choice.  I select English and press OK, but the printer takes me back to language selection.  I cannot move ahead at all.  What can I do?  Please help!

This has been on the boards before but there is no solution.
