PIXMA G620 Replacement ink: Pigment vs Dye

apas41

Hello,

I am getting mixed messages about pigment ink vs dye ink. I have a Canon G620 ink and I understand the ink bottles that came with my printer are dye based ink. I have read in a  few forums that when I get my replacement ink, I can purchase PIGMENT based ink, is this true? Will there be issues with my Canon G620 if it used pigment based ink?

Thank you for your time.

Hi apas41,

The PIXMA G620 uses six GI-23 inks; gray, black, red, cyan, magenta and yellow.

All six of those inks are dye based.

The use of pigment inks in the PIXMA G620 is not supported.

Replacement ink bottles are available from Canon:
