PIXMA G620 Just spins and won't print photo

On my Pixma G620 I try to print an 8 x 10 photo. The printer makes noise, spins and then just spits out the photo paper without printing. It also tells me there is a paper jam when there isn't a jam. I'm using the Canon Easy Photo Print Editor. I'm on an iMac M3 Tahoe.

Finally got through to a Canon support person and spent an hour on the chat with him. He finally solved the problem. Way too complicated to post the solution if I even remember what it was. It seems to me that if a solution to a print problem is as complicated as it turned out to be there is something wrong with the Canon system. I hold my breath whenever I print on my Canon G620

I found this response on an older printer tech forum where a user was having the same problem:

For anyone following this. I contacted Canon tech support. The technician asked me what paper I was using. I said Ilford Professional Glossy paper. He asked how heavy the paper stock was, and I said it was rather heavy. He suggested trying a lighter stock paper. First, he had me run a black and white WordPerfect print through the printer, and that worked Ok. Then I put a lighter stock Canon photo paper in the printer, and that ran perfectly. Then I switched to a heavier Canon photo paper and that ran perfectly. Lastly, I again ran some Ilford paper through the printer, and now that heavy paper went through perfectly. Somehow, when I first used the Ilford paper, it fooled the printer into thinking the paper was jamming the printer. Weird, but thanks to Canon all is now well. Thanks to those of you who replied with suggestions.

Seems that Canon photo paper is good to have around.

Well that's not an answer to my problem.

I am at the point of giving up on this printer. When it worked the photo prints were excellent but now my G620 is a brick. Canon is little to no help. I received a response at one point and followed the directions which really did not address the issue. Anyone out there want to buy a Canon G620? Still has plenty of ink.
