PIXMA G6020 Spits Out Blank Pages

My brand new G6020 goes through all the motions but spits out only blank paper.  I've had it 2 days, it worked the first time (yesterday) then quit entirely.  I re-installed from new and it said the installation was a success.  It makes all the noises, goes through the whole process, but prints nothing.  Ideas?  Is there a phone number for Canon help?

I had just about given up, was ready to send it back when - lo and behold- five HOURS later - it started going nuts and spit out all the results of my fussing with it, and perfectly. This thing definitely has a mind of its own!
