so I'm not exactly thrilled with Canon at this point since I bought my pixama inkjet mega tank printer G3272 about a year and a half ago and I've already had it replaced under my warranty once and about ,6 months after receiving the replacement which was the same amount of time I had the original one replaced, it just quit turning on. I get nothing no power at all one day. I made no change, no movement of the printer there was no reason for it to just die AGAIN and since they won't do anything this time I'm stuck trying to fix it myself so that's my first question to anyone who can possibly help.. are there any thoughts on how to fix the sudden loss of power? I've done all the"suppose to" things all the normal and obvious things to find and fix the issue myself. nothing works so I've been told it could be the power inverter, anybody have any thoughts themselves or had the same problem? I'd love to use my printer again. the second question is about the maintenance box, I have removed it an noticed the ink sponges are almost full, so is there a way to rinse or clean them without having to replace the entire box? or is that just a bad idea? it's absolutely ridiculous that I've had the same power problem out of 2 printers in the same amount of time which is why I'm hoping for about and ideas instead of having to either find a repair shop or buying a new one. kinda messed up of Canon but what can I do please lemme know anything I sure will appreciate it

I apologize I'm sure thought I did but no worries it was a pixma inkjet mega tank and g series 3272 I bought it had it 6 months and it just didn't come on one day just nothing go to turn it on no power to it so they sent me a replacement and same thing about 6 months later this one also just did not turn on one day you know you do everything that they tell you you changed the outlet plug up different things to make sure it's working all kinds of stuff and none of it made any difference so I started looking online to see what else it could be and the maintenance box seems to be the main culprit so my issue with that was is are you able to take out the sponges that collect the ink and just clean or rinse them out or is it absolutely necessary to buy another one and it's not the price that matters to me it's the issue that I've had to replace the first one and then the second one does the exact same thing and of course they're not going to help me with this one this one is not covered under the warranty apparently which is just so wrong but it's whatever and not that it matters to Cannon but you know I don't have a ride myself and it's hard for me to get around so taking it to a service shop or repair shop would be difficult for me so I'm just curious if it's possible to rinse those sponges out in the maintenance box . and the issue with the power it's not anything that I've done specially since this is the second printer of the same model that's done the same thing so obviously it's cannons issue they're doing something wrong and honestly I won't never buy another Canon product again and I will tell people not to buy their products because 6 months for one printer 6 months for the other there's no reason I should have to have it serviced for it not powering on and doesn't even come on that's that's the crazy thing so I'm just not happy with Canon at all but yeah any suggestions as far as the power issue or the sponges and the maintenance box I just would appreciate it thanks bunches

Hi Lelean1124. Thanks for sharing with the Canon community. I am sorry to hear about your PIXMA G3272 that has stopped powering on.
I am with Canon Technical Support. I do understand that you have already reached out to us. Therefore, I assume that you have already checked the cable connection at both ends and tried connecting the power cable to a different power outlet (directly on another wall/ not a power strip). We also recommend that you connect to an outlet that doesn't have any other devices connected to it.
If you've tried all that, and the printer is still not turning on, the only other thing you can do (besides service) is check for a paper jam or obstruction in the paper path. For information that will help with checking for paper jams, please visit the following page of the online manual:
https://ij.manual.canon/ij/webmanual/ErrorCode/G3070%20series/EN/ERR/err_jam0100.html?ref=err_jam010...
As far as the maintenance box you mentioned, if you are referring to the maintenance cartridge (part number MC-G04), it would be a lot easier to replace it than to clean it. The maintenance cartridge was not designed to be cleaned, so it would be very difficult and messy to clean it manually. This part costs around $11.99, so it is not that expensive.
Please note that replacing the maintenance cartridge (or cleaning it) is not likely going to fix the main issue you are experiencing (unable to power the printer on). If you do happen to get the printer turning on again, you can purchase a maintenance cartridge (MC-G04) from stores that sell Canon printers. If you would like to see the Canon online store page for this part, please use the following link:
https://www.usa.canon.com/shop/p/maintenance-cartridge-g04
If you need instructions for replacing the maintenance cartridge, they are in the following section of the online manual:
https://ij.manual.canon/ij/webmanual/Manual/All/G3070%20series/EN/UG/ug-235.html
Should you decide to purchase another Canon printer, we can offer you a discount and free shipping towards that purchase. To take us up on that offer, please call toll-free 1 (866) 443-8002 from 9:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M. (Eastern Time), Monday through Friday to speak with one of our sales agents. Let them know you have been working with technical support and the Canon Upgrade Program was offered. You can also ask them about purchasing a CarePAK which can extend the warranty of that new printer up to 4 years.
I hope this information helps. Thanks again.

well honestly I am already aware of this repair since I couldn't afford to pay someone to find the problem for me and I also couldn't have taken the product to a shop since I am unable to drive myself, but heavily said that the real and larger concern is that I shouldn't have had to even post this question or ask about any issues at all with my printer since this was the replacement product for another printer that I had under a year and this replacement I had less than 6 months so it isn't exactly knowing what the issue is and what to do to fix it anymore it's likely the fact that Canon has substandard products and has no thoughts about their customers or their products low quality. there is no reason what so ever that after very light usage and only 6 months of ownership that I should be looking into a repair shop or parts to be able to use my printer again. less than a year with the original item and then 6 months into the replacement I'm unable to use the printer again and with minimal usage absolutely no moving of the printer after I received the new one, which had a different power cord by the way showing there were clearly problems with the original product... but minimal print jobs and the maintenance box needs to be replaced or my sponges in the back need to be replaced... there is seriously something wrong with the quality of your product something wrong with the items your putting on the market for us unsuspecting consumers to purchase and shortly very shortly after purchase we are having to spend more unnecessary money to fix a low quality printer we shouldn't have to do. and although I don't have proof I'm pretty sure that at some point out was known that this item specifically either was poorly designed and there were issues needing attention that got ignored and even though someone somewhere in some department knew these issues nothing was done and nothing was going to be done because none cared. they weren't going to have to pay to replace anything or even he's about customers having to so who cares. point being there is absolutely no reason that I should have any problems especially with the second printer that I'm being told to take care of myself. it's ridiculous so sure both parts are likely needing to be replaced. unfortunately in an utterly ridiculously short amount of time and very little usage. so yeah thanks for nothing. and if you knew those might have been things that I could've done it would've been nice for you to mention them during our conversation.

oh I forgot that now I'm also seeing an error code that I wasn't seeing before...b20b which again less than maybe 8 months now since the problem started about 2 months ago now I'm just still unable to use my printer... and i couldn't get it to do anything until the last couple times I tried getting it to power on that's when I seen the code for t first time.... that wasn't happening before. it literally just wasn't coming on. so I don't know why suddenly there is a code showing but that kinda just proves my point about the low quality and just poor design

The B20B code is a maintenance box code error, I suspect that the box was close to full and removing it triggered the error. Did you reinstall it? I am a bit surprised if this error showed while the printer is not on.
