PIXMA G3060 no longer printing vibrant glossy photos

Hello,

I'm having a printing nightmare. I used to print vibrant photos on glossy 8.5x11 photo paper all the time on my PIXMA G3060 at my moms house. One weekend I needed it at my apartment, so my mom brought the printer here, but we didn't know to put it in transport mode. When I was setting it up at my apartment, it struggled to connect to my wifi, and I had to reinstall drivers- which canon doesn't have G3060 drivers on their site anymore. I had to use G3260 I think (and yes, I tried installing the G3060 ones from the thailand site too, it didn't change anything).

Next, after downloading some secondary software to connect it to my apartment wifi, it refused to print magenta because the ink cartridge clogged or something. I eventually had order printhead cleaning solution to flush all of the cartridges as well as a new maitenance cartridge. I cleaned the printheads, installed the new maitenance cartridge, and then ran an ink flush. Now, my prints were looking normal again.. on plain paper mode. On glossy photo paper mode, the pictures have a reddish hue and the blacks are not as dark. I feel like I've tried everything, every mode, every cleaning. I have no idea anymore.

I realized I can upload photos. Both sheets are glossy photo paper. The left side was printed on plain paper mode, and the right was on glossy photo paper mode. Both were on high quality. The left is more true to color.

On my screen the color difference looks close enough to possibly be caused by the paper not the printer. What glossy paper are you using?

I use this:

 https://www.walmart.com/ip/197569790?sid=d956f20c-bed3-43b4-99b7-f50f50419822

And I've been using these papers for ages. I never had issues with this paper before I had to reinstall the drivers, ink flush, maintenance cartridge replacement, etc. The photo paper has stayed the same throughout this whole process.

I also want to note that when I print on glossy paper mode even on top of regular printer paper, its also reddish. It has to be something to do with the setting and not the paper.

It could be that the printer color profile for photos changed with the driver install. There is not a driver for the printer from USA but this one may do better. You can uninstall the printer and reinstall which will update the color profile.

Before you try reinstalling the driver, your printer has color correction, it the adjustment procedure was installed.

This is the guide:

I think you are printing from Cricut Design Space? Do you have any tips for getting vibrant prints? I have just bought  a new Pixma and I'm sadly disappointed in the colour quality.

LesleyBD what Canon printer do you now have? I own the Pixma MG3620, one of Canon's older printers still in production. I print mostly 8x10 photos with it and they are brilliant. I print primarily from Corel PaintShop Pro, 2023,
Windows 11 Photos app, also Sony's Play Memories home. The color matches my calibrated Acer Monitors very well.

I have Cricut Design Space installed on my wife's Window's 11 tablet PC but have not printed any photos with it yet.

I had just bought a Pixma G3590. I was horrified to find that it doesn’t have proper drivers for the Mac so it’s being returned. My old printer is a 15 year old Pixma 4700 which is a little workhorse. It takes 300gsm card and prints bright colours. I guess I’ll stick with it until it dies then look at an Epson Eco Tank.
