Tried removing the print head and cleaning it, but I still get this error.
I notice that the PGBK and C ink cartridges have a lamp on at the top and bottom of the front of the ink cartridges, whereas the M BK and Y ink cartridges only have one light at the bottom of them.
Is this normal? What does it mean?

Hi freoway,
The error you are experiencing would mean the carriage that the print head sits in is damaged or the print head needs to replaced. If you have already resat the print head, it would mean the printer needs service. The lights for the ink being off or on won't tie into the print head error.
The printer has a 1 year warranty and you can click the link HERE to create a Canon account to see what service options you have.
Outside of the 1 year warranty, you can contact our sales department at 1-800-652-2666 to use our Upgrade Program. The Upgrade program will give you a discount and free shipping on a replacement printer.
