How do you replace the encoder strip on the cannon pixma mg3620 I was printing when just stopped and no longer working the light alarms suggested paper jam but upon inspection only found clear strip with all L on it . After online research I am certain it's the encoder strip . How can I re install it or install a new one?

Greetings,

Canon does not provide instructions for encoder strip replacement.  Do you have a source for one?

They recommend cleaning as a first step.

Hi Killa4Rilla941,

If the encoder strip has fallen out of place, it sounds like the printer needs service. The encoder is the part of the printer that keeps track of the ink carriage. If the encoder was laying at the bottom of the ink area, it would mean the clip holding it in place is damaged.

The printer has a 1 year warranty and you can click the HERE to create a Canon account to see what service options you have.
