Ttouble began with update to OS Monterey on MAC MINI. Any help appreciated.

That usually indicates a driver problem. Looking at the support site for your printer I see it isn’t supported for macOS Monterey.

My pixma mp990 printer gets the error "filter fail" when trying to print.
