My printer has been working just fine. However, just today one of the cartridges was low, so I replaced it. Now when I try to print it just spits out blank pages. I ran the test to check for clogged nozzles, but the all blocks print beautifully. What do I try next?

I gave up and recycled the MX892 at Best Buy ... I then bougnt a new HP Photosmart 7520 to replace it. I liked the print quality of the Canon better, but so far the HP is working. Bottomline, Canon was making so much money off their ink, why not produce a quality printer that just keeps on working. And, why not "fix" the problem or even provide feedback. I certainly love the quality and long life of my Canon SX40HS camera.

you got it, it was expensive and it's a POS. Works great for 1 or two years and then POOF, stops. I had 3 of them in my different offices, only ONE is still working and ONLY because I bought a used printhead (50 dollars) and replaced it. I tried replacing the printhead on both of the other machines that did same thing and they still wouldn't work. Great boat anchors, sh****y printers.

How does your nozzle check appear compared to the sample below?
If the nozzle check is missing either the grid at the top or any of the bands of color, then the nozzles may be clogged. Run a few deep cleanings and then try the nozzle check again.
To perform a Deep Cleaning: Press the MENU button. Select Setup > Maintenance > Deep Cleaning. Then follow the on screen prompts.
If the issue isn't resolved after a few deep cleanings, feel free to Contact Us!
What a JOKE!

Yes, I had this problem too. When you first send the print command to the printer, check and make sure the proper paper size has been selected. Everytime this happened to me, the automatic paper setting was set to 4x6 and I was using 8.5 x 11 paper so it would not print.

GARBAGE.
When did the esteemed Canon corporation decide it was ok to sell garbage?
I can tell you this right now, Canon.... I am a computer professional that has recommended Canon for Years, and owned several of them. They worked great. Years ago.
I will Not be recommeneding Canon any more.
My MX700 died, for no good reason suddenly, and at another location, I just witnessed the MX892 (as noted in this thread) die. Blank pages. $70 worth of new ink. Useless.
So are you abandoning the quality camera market next?
Brother printers seem to be the only good ones left.

I agree. I bought 3 of these for my different offices and I only have 1 left and it's starting to act up!@!@@ POS. These weren't cheap either. I won't buy canon again.

My Pixma MG7520 had the Printing Blank pages problem... it seemed to start around the time i started printing from iPhone, and had same issue from win7 laptotp and same issue with brad new install on new win10 laptop. I tried everything to fix, re-installing from online divers, reinstalling from CDROM that came with printer... but suddenly it stopped...and is now fixed.
I recommend doing this:
1) From printer lcd menu, Advanced Printing-Templates and print a page of graph paper... if this works then skip all the b.s. advice about printhead cleaning, utilities, etc.
2) plug-in USB to your laptop to printer, try to print being sure to pick the version of printer that is online... if that works than it is clearly a wireless and/or software thing and doing a total re-install will help.
While re-installing the printer driver, i included all the bloatware too, like PrintGarden or whaterever, and the XPS option that was unchecked... don't know if that helped or not. CAREFUL to minimize windows cause the HP windows like to hide behind other windows so you think it's done... GOOD LUCK... I was close to tossing the bright orange ho out on the street, but luckily found I could print via usb cable so was going to do that until i purchased a new, non-Canon printer.
