MX420 scanner not recognized

I have a mx420 connected to my windows 10 pc. It prints fine from all apps. When I start Canon MP Navigator EX 4.1 to scan a document, It get a dialog box that it can't be started, with a list of supported models (and mx420 is listed). I have tried the original install disc as well as the current downloads on the Canon site. I have deleted the printer and all drivers and reinstalled, still no scan. This is on a second PC running win10. (the first pc prints and scans as it should). I did verify the downloads for scanning are identical. I am giving the first pc to my son and want to use this second pc with the mx420.

Thanks for letting us know what Canon product you've got. The PIXMA MX420 is an older model which we have retired. While that means that Canon USA no longer offers direct support for it, your friends here in the Canon Community are welcome to offer suggestions!

You can also speak with a Canon Upgrade Program specialist to help you score a modern replacement that would meet your current needs at a discount. You can reach them weekdays and Saturdays at 1-866-443-8002.

Hope this helps!

looking at this NEW printer,

Canon Pixma MG3620 Wireless All-in-One Color Inkjet Printer,

is this still supported?  MG3620, being sold new on Amazon, first offered 8 years ago. I need to print AND scan from both a Mac with OS Ventura and Windows 10 PC.

While it came out in 2015, we do still offer support for the PIXMA MG3620 at this time.  Our sales team can also advise you on a much more modern model that would suit your needs.  They're available weekdays and Saturdays at 1-800-385-2155 or you can chat with them here.

Have a great day!
