I have generally purchased my ink for Amazon, genuine Canon cartridges. I have tried twice to replace my 250XL cartridge and the ones they send fit very tight and the printer does not recognize it is inserted. The red light flashed momentarily when putting it in but once it clicks into place nothing I do gets it to work. The new cartridges seem a little different. When I place the old spent cartridge in it works fine except that the ink is out. I don't print a lot, just sudoku and crosswords mostly, an occasional letter.
Has anyone else seen this? Would buying ink elsewhere make a difference?
I see this model is no longer supported for software upgrades. Is it time to replace it?
Any insight into this will be appreciated.
