MG 3200 prints too lightly when printing 2 sided

How can I adjust this? I am trying to print recipes and often it takes 1 sheet plus a couple of lines and the 2 sided feature would be PERFECT but will not print dark enough to read.  Is there a way to adjust this? It prints perfectly one-sided and there is plenty of ink.  I am at a loss.

In order to better assist you, allow me to ask a couple questions:

• What program are you printing from?
• Do you get the same effect when printing from other programs?
• Which version of Windows or Macintosh do you have?

windows 7 home premium

I have used the canon utility, the highlight and right click to print option in windows and the print option on specific pages to bring up the windows print feature.  I have found it to be across the board on any program I use.
