I have been given a virtually new Canon Pixma iP4300 InkJet printer which I would like to connect to my iPad Mini by the USB port. However, I do realise, having investigated a number of iPad Forums that Apple seem to have designated both the iPad and iPhone to 'WiFi technology' only, termed "AirPrinting". Ideally I want to try connecting the 2 by cable, and have purchased the correct USB cable from 'Maplin' to link to the 'Lightning to USB' cable (used for Charging) supplied with the iPad Mini.
I'm hoping that someone 'out there' has written a 'Driver' to physically connect and communicate between the iPad Mini and conventional printers (Yes, I know 'And Pigs might Fly').

Hello All,
I know "and Pigs might fly" but I'm determined to find what is available to connect a Non Air Printer (Canon Pixma iP4300) to the Apple iPad Mini using a USB cable etc.
Surely, someone/business has written a 'Driver' to connect a printer by cable, like we always did?
