I have Canon Selphy CP900 and when I turn it on, it stays on the Canon screen;menu doesn't work

I just purchased the Canon Selphy CP900 and when I turn it on it stays on the Canon screen. I try to press the menu button an nothing happens. I am not able to turn it off either, I have to unplug it to turn off. Any ideas what it could be? I have not connected to the computer yet because I was only trying to print from a USB, do I need to connect it to the computer and download the software?

If you have not done so alraedy, I would recommend unplugging it and leaving it unplugged for about 30 minutes, then plug it back in.  If the issue persists, please use the Contact Us link to contact our support staff who can provide applicable warranty options
