Hi Mamabones,
The MP Navigator EX can be used to scan with your PIXMA MG3120. To scan using the MP Navigator EX, please follow these steps:
1. From the Windows Start screen, please click the MP Navigator EX tile.
2. Place your item to be scanned face down on the scanner.
3. Click Photos/Documents (Platen).
4. Select Document Type according to the document to be scanned.
5. Click Specify... to set the document size and scanning resolution as required.
6. Click the green Scan button.
7. When scanning is completed, the Scan Complete dialog box opens. Select Scan or Exit. Select Scan to scan the next document, or select Exit to end.
8. Once scanning is complete, click the Save button.
9. In the Save dialog box, give the image a descriptive file name.
10. In the Save as type drop down box, choose JPEG/Exif.
11. Click the Save button.
The image will be saved as a JPEG in the location that was specified.
