My Canon G4000 printer is connected through USB cable with TP Link printer, but not directly through USB cable.
I use my computer to print that works with this usual connection. But, I cannot scan any document in the canon quick menu inside my computer and appears
Cannot communicate with scanner for these reasons:
- Scanner is turned off.
- USB cable is disconnected.
Please check and try again.
Scanner driver will be closed.
Code:5, 156, 69
Could you possibly please help solve my problem, thank you

Hello.
USB communication is not supported through a network or extension device. You would have to connect the printer directly to your computer if you wished to use the printer via USB.
The printer also has Wi-Fi capabilities. You could connect the printer to a Wi-Fi router. Next, make sure that the computer is on the same network and then reinstall the G4200 drivers for a wireless setup. This should allow you to scan over the network.
