I am experiencing problems with the Canon printer driver and the current version of macOS installed on my computer, macOS Tahoe 26.
I use a Canon G6010 and Canon G5010 printer for professional printing and customized stationery. Because I work with printed artwork, I need access to advanced printer settings, including color adjustments, brightness, contrast, paper type, print quality, and borderless printing.
At the moment, my printer is only working through AirPrint. However, AirPrint does not provide access to several important Canon printer functions. I cannot even select the borderless printing option without the correct Canon driver.
The latest driver available on the Canon website does not appear to be compatible with the latest macOS Tahoe 26 update.
Could you please provide a solution for this issue? Is there an updated driver available, a compatible alternative driver, or another Canon application that would allow me to access the printer’s full settings on macOS Tahoe 26?
This issue is directly affecting my professional work, as I am currently unable to properly configure my print jobs.

I can find Canon drivers for MAC for the G5010, but nothing later than OS X version 10.5 .
No better results for the G6010.

It looks to me like there is no Canon printer apps that will add control over more printer settings. Hopefully the MAC Tahoe v26 users here can offer more help.

Thank you very much for your help, Derick. I really appreciate the time you took to look into this issue.
Unfortunately, it is very disappointing that Canon has not provided a proper solution, making it impossible to use the printer’s full functionality on an updated Mac. Because of this, I will probably have to replace my printers, even though I really like Canon’s print quality. In my experience, it is superior to Epson, especially for the type of printing work I do.
However, basic functions such as changing the paper size should be the minimum functionality available to users. I am honestly very disappointed because, before purchasing the Mac, I carefully researched the compatibility of all the applications I use for work. I never imagined that something as simple as printing with my Canon printer would make my work so difficult.
Once again, thank you for your help. Unfortunately, the available driver is not compatible with macOS Tahoe 26.

It appears that the Native AirPrint comes into play regardless of what modern Canon printer you may want to use:
Choosing the "best" Canon printer for macOS 26 Tahoe depends heavily on what you print most often—everyday documents, photos, or heavy home-office volume.
The good news is that macOS 26 Tahoe natively supports Apple AirPrint. This means almost all modern wireless Canon printers will work driver-free out of the box without needing to wait for manufacturer software updates.
Type: MegaTank (Refillable Ink Tank)
Best For: High-volume document printing, schoolwork, and home offices.
Why it’s great for macOS Tahoe: Uses Apple AirPrint over Wi-Fi, saving money on ink cartridges with low cost-per-page. Pigment inks provide sharp text that won't smudge.
Type: All-in-One Wireless Photo Inkjet
Best For: Everyday documents, color graphics, labels, and mixed photo/document printing.
Why it’s great for macOS Tahoe: Offers strong color output, a built-in scanner, and native AirPrint integration. Works smoothly with macOS's native Print dialog.
Type: Professional 13" Wide-Format Inkjet
Best For: High-end photo prints, artwork, and custom craft projects.
Why it’s great for macOS Tahoe: Features an 8-color dye ink system for rich, vibrant photos and supports AirPrint for quick wireless printing from both Mac and iOS.
Type: Monochrome Laser
Best For: High-speed document printing without ink drying out between uses.
Why it’s great for macOS Tahoe: Laser printers require virtually zero maintenance compared to inkjets and integrate seamlessly via native AirPrint drivers.
