I searched all over the internet, my cartridge is not broken because it works on different printers.
Its a CL 38 color cartridge and was working perfectly but just stopped working. I only want to print black but it doesnt let me bypass the error. What do I do?

The E 5 error is defined in the User's Manual as: "The FINE Cartridge cannot be recognized. The FINE Cartridge may not be installed properly, or the Cartridge may not be compatible with this machine. Open the Scanning Unit (Printer Cover) and install the appropriate FINE Cartridge."
The CL-38 ink cartridge is not compatible with the PIXMA MP210. The PIXMA MP210 uses the PG-30, PG-40, CL-31 and CL-41 ink cartridges. Replacing the color ink cartridge will resolve the E 5 error that you are experiencing.
