I just got the kids two Acer 311 Chromebooks and am trying to connect to my Canon PIXMA MP560. Cannot find any existing questions on this (since google removed cloud print in early 2021).
I have tried manual set-up with the printer's IP address, but Chromebook says it cannot set up automatically and requires a make/model selection. There are quite a few Canon models in the selection field, but Canon MP560 is not an option, I don't see any PIXMA printers or anything close. I tried selecting a couple of random models and it accepts the settings and tries to print, but never get anything from the printer side.
Has anyone connected the MP560 to a chromebook since they discontinued google cloud print?
Chromebook also has a setting 'Specific your printer PPD' - is this something that needs a specific setting for the MP560?
Thanks!

Hi tshaw,
The PIXMA MP560 is not supported for use with Chromebooks. You are eligible for Canon's Upgrade Program. This is for out of warranty units which have been diagnosed to require service, or for some reason are incompatible with a new or upgraded system. This option allows you a one-time opportunity to purchase a replacement product, discounted from the list price.
To help you get up and running quickly, we also offer free standard shipping (if the order is completed by 12:30PM ET). If you would like to take part in this option, please call our Sales Department at (866) 443-8002. They're available weekdays and Saturdays after 9 AM ET (6 AM PT). Let them know you have been working with technical support and the Canon Upgrade Program was offered.
