Canon MX340 error message U163

I just replaced the black ink cartridge and I get the message "Check Ink" and an error code U163.  The color cartridge is dry because I do not use color.  I cannot copy or print.  Any suggestions would be very welcome!  Thank you!

Hi davidh0621,

While the color ink is empty the printer will be in a error state and wont be able to copy or print. To try and clear the low ink warning on the printer you can hold he stop button down for 5 seconds and then release it. This should disable the low ink detector.
