Canon MX340 - Ink still says "low" despite having catridges re-filled

I just had my ink catridges refilled for the Canon MX340 printer but I still receive "ink is low" messages both on my PC and printer itself. I've tried cleaning the connections with a dry cloth gently and also holding down the "cancel" button on the printer for 5 to 10 seconds but with no luck.

Any suggestions as how to stop the low ink messages please?

The Canon MX340 is a tricky one. Have you tried running a cleaning cycle or a toner cartridge replacement cycle on the printer? That used to rid me of this error. Do note that you will get this error 90% of the time when you refill a cartridge with this printer.

Have you used refilled cartridges before?

I've found refilled cartridges (and some non canon new ones) always give me an ink low message.

Think there may be some sort of "switch" inside the cartridges.
