Hello,
I have Canon MG7720. I want to ask if I need to buy color tanks if I just want to print in black. If the color tanks are empty, would it continue to print in black if I keep supplying black tanks.
Thanks.

Greetings,
While it might be possible, its not recommended. The printer uses both pigment (PGBK) and dye (BLK) based black inks.
Its possible to print black only but, several things can happen.
The print head can overheat and be damaged
the print head can become clogged (color) due to lack of use
Ok to do in a pinch, but should not be relied upon for long term use. If you need black only printing, I suggest you buy a laser printer. They are inexpensive and offer a much lower cost per page to print black.
